Underestimated

Hello all! Welcome to another weekly update! This week consisting of:
Friday, Jan 9 – Thursday, Jan 15.

Home Projects
So I made a huge list of things to do for this week, and ended up only being able to do about 4 of them; most of which were smaller tasks. But that’s the things we deal with over here when we’re being pulled in multiple directions. Here’s where my problem truly started this week. My biggest goal was to finish painting and wallpapering our youngest daughter’s room. Well I severely UNDERESTIMATED, the amount of wallpaper I’d need. Not once, but twice. 🙂 So on Friday I painted her room, which was extremely easy because it went from yellow to a darker periwinkle; so I didn’t have to do multiple coats at all. Then when I get to the wallpapering, I wanted to do an entire wall of it. That quickly became impossible because one roll of wallpaper would only cover about 1 full length of the wall and some change. These rolls are $16-18 a piece; so I definitely didn’t want to have to pay all that money for enough rolls to cover the entire wall. So we compromise and I decided to do half walls with a bottom trim. Then I see that my two rolls is only enough for almost half the wall. But how I had cut and used it I thought maybe I could get away with just buying one more roll. WRONG! Never underestimate how much wallpaper you’ll need! SO! I ordered a fourth roll and in between waiting on all of the wallpaper to get here, I won’t be able to finish her room until this week. However, I will provide you all with pictures so we can see that social media isn’t just finishing a project in one day. Thank you for bearing with me and my ridiculous brain.

Books
So I finished Light Bringer by Pierce Brown on Jan 11. I usually listen to my books with audible so I can do other things around the house, fiber arts, or just not having to stop everything to open up a physical copy. SO, I was listening to this book when I was washing dishes; and lucky for you all I didn’t get a picture of how much I was bawling. I have a post cry picture that I will grace you all with though! This book was so much more catching for me because one of my favorite characters was more prominent in it than he had been in the previous book because he was captured. This book was so good and there was a scene where Darrow had used a new fighting style that he just made up on the spot and I told my husband, “it was like reading poetry.” The way Pierce describes things is so beautiful, even though he’s constantly writing them to rip out my heart. So we lose a character at the end of this book and it was the worst. :,(

Fiber Arts
Please understand that this is my first real knitting project. I’ve tried them before; but I’ve never done a full sweater that isn’t in pieces. So, I didn’t get too far with this one, but I was able to start the grey/light blue block. I’ve only been able to work on this during the time I’m waiting in line for picking up our oldest from school. I’ve only got two weeks to finish this one; which means I’ll have to cut back this next week on some home projects. So please send me all your positive vibes for speedy hands!

Trips
We didn’t go on any trips this week, but I did make reservations for our middle daughter’s birthday. Disney allows you to make reservations 60 day out, all the way up to the end of your stay if you have a hotel reservation. So I used our remaining 16 Disney Vacation Club points to get a room at Animal Kingdom Lodge for Sunday night, March 8th. And the big reservation I needed to make sure I got for our “Yes Day” on March 9th, was dinner at Cinderella’s castle. We ate at Cinderella’s castle last year, and our middle daughter, Lily, has been talking about it ever since. So I knew for her Yes Day, that I’d HAVE to get reservations. She’ll be excited when she finds out. Her other favorite thing is the river rapids ride at Animal Kingdom. So Animal Kingdom will be our first stop, then off to Magic Kingdom for the rest of her day. We’ll also be staying there for a few days that weekend; but Yes Day is just for the little and me (mostly because they have to use my fingerprint to get in).

These are pics from the last time we went to Cinderella’s Royal Table for dinner. ❤️
