We Trudge On

Welcome to our third week together! This week consists of:
Friday, Jan 16- Thursday, Jan 22.

Home Projects
This week was way easier in terms of home projects. I decided to take a bit of a step back to work on other things. Not to mention that the house becomes an absolute disaster if I’m trying to do projects instead of constantly cleaning up after three tornados. However, I did finally finish Sophie’s room. Well, not completely finished, but the painting and wallpaper are done. There’s still some minor touches I’d like to add, but just don’t have the means to do that right now.
Our oldest, Maya, didn’t have school on Monday because of MLK Day. And their grandma asked if they wanted to have a sleepover. So Sunday after dropping off the girls, we set to cleaning up a bit (it’s a disaster again), and we started painting and rearranging the master bedroom. This room is going to take so much longer than just a week, so it may be a while before you all see the end result.

Books
On Saturday, Jan 17, I finished Fourth Wing. It was just as good and also just as slightly cringe as I remember. But definitely worth the read if you haven’t given it a shot. I’m almost done with Iron Flame now, and zoomed through the first half of it but once the ex showed up it again has just been trudging through the 20 something year olds who are fighting over dumb shit like I did when I was their age. So I get it, but it’s a rough read when I can’t stand the lack of communication.

Fiber Arts
Ok, I put off doing projects not just because I needed to get back on track with keeping the house clean, but also because I desperately need to finish this sweater I’m working on. I’ve been keeping the reason why a secret for you all, but I promise you’ll know soon! Here’s how far I’ve gotten:

Trips
We booked our flights for New York this week. Josh got a Dscout mission that asked him to go through the process of booking flights too. So that will give him an extra $75 back, just for doing something we already planned on. He also got tens of thousands of points last year for traveling to South Africa and Taiwan for work, so after using some of his flight points, we ended up only paying $25 for the round trip for both of us. Josh will also be leaving us this upcoming Sunday to go to Maryland for work :,( But he’ll be back home next Wednesday, and then we’ll be heading back out on Friday. I’ll post a sneak peak of what we’re going to NY for! 👀👀👀 (this pic should make it pretty dang obvious)
